Affiliate Disclosure

Last updated: April 26, 2026

Modern Wealth Model (MWM) is reader-supported. When you click certain links on this site and make a purchase, MWM may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. This page explains how that works and how it affects (or doesn’t affect) the content you read here.

What an affiliate link is

An affiliate link is a tracked URL. When you click it and complete a qualifying action (a purchase, subscription, or sign-up, depending on the program), the merchant pays MWM a small commission. The price you pay is exactly the same whether you click an affiliate link or go to the merchant directly. There is no markup, no surcharge, and no special pricing.

Programs MWM participates in

MWM may earn commissions through, but is not limited to, the following affiliate programs:

  • Amazon Services LLC Associates Program
  • Bitcoin exchanges and on-ramps (e.g., Swan Bitcoin, River Financial, Strike)
  • Bitcoin custody and advisory firms (e.g., Unchained Capital)
  • Hardware wallet manufacturers (e.g., Trezor, Ledger, BitBox, Coldcard)
  • Cryptocurrency tax software (e.g., CoinTracker, Koinly)
  • Google AdSense (display advertising on certain pages)

This list may grow or change. The disclosure principles below apply to every commercial relationship MWM enters into.

Amazon Associates disclosure (required)

As an Amazon Associate, MWM earns from qualifying purchases. This language is required by the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program Operating Agreement and applies to any page on this site that includes Amazon links.

How affiliate relationships affect (or don’t affect) the content

MWM only links to products and services that have been personally researched and that the author would use or recommend independently of any commission. The presence of an affiliate link does not change the editorial position of an article. If a product is good, MWM says so; if it has tradeoffs, MWM says that too.

Specifically:

  • Affiliate links never appear inside the analytical or scenario-based content of YMYL (Your Money, Your Life) articles in a way that could compromise the analysis. They appear only in clearly marked recommendation sections.
  • The Consulting and About pages do not contain affiliate links. Trust signals on those pages are kept separate from commercial relationships.
  • Calculator results and methodology pages disclose any commission-earning links explicitly.
  • The Halving House Card Catalog includes Amazon links to many books. Each link earns MWM a small commission at no cost to you.

No financial advice

None of the content on this site — including content that contains affiliate links — constitutes personalized financial, tax, legal, or investment advice. MWM is not a registered investment advisor, broker-dealer, or licensed tax professional. Always consult a qualified professional before making decisions about your specific financial situation.

How to identify affiliate links on MWM

Where space allows, MWM marks affiliate links with brief contextual disclosure (for example, “affiliate link — commission earned at no extra cost to you”). On pages that include multiple affiliate links of the same type, a single disclosure appears at the top of the page or section.

Display advertising

MWM may display advertising provided by Google AdSense or other ad networks. Ads are served programmatically based on context and your browsing history. MWM does not endorse advertisers and has limited control over which specific ads appear. Ad-supported pages are clearly distinct from editorial content.

Questions or concerns

If anything on this site appears to violate the principles above, or if you have questions about a specific affiliate relationship, please reach out at modernwealthmodel@proton.me.

This disclosure complies with the U.S. Federal Trade Commission’s Endorsement Guides (16 CFR Part 255). It is reviewed and updated as MWM’s affiliate relationships change.
